Karen Marsh

I am a fully qualified Companion Animal Behaviourist and Trainer, a member of the Coape Association of Pet Behaviourists and Trainers (CAPBT) and the Pet Dog Trainers of Europe (PDTE).

I also studied at the International Dog Training and Behaviour School with Sheila Harper and Turid Rugaas.

I can help you with all behaviour and training problems you are having with your pets as well as puppy and dog training. Most of my work is with cats and dogs, although I have worked with horses, chickens, gerbils and rabbits! I am based in Minehead and cover West Somerset.

To work on behaviour problems I use only kind, positive and rewarding methods. I begin by assessing the animal’s emotional state at the time of the problem and look at the general mood state at other times. By working closely with the owner (and the veterinary surgeon where appropriate) I can develop a behaviour modification programme that will teach the animal a new pattern of behaviour which the owner can then reinforce in the future.

I can help you with your new puppy, by teaching you the normal development of puppies so that you know what to expect at each stage, as well as early training to help build and cement your relationship.

I also work with rescue dogs, helping your new dog settle with you and guiding you through the early days while you both get used to each other.
